2019 Berkeley High Coup Ultimate

Management

The Berkeley High Coup Ultimate team is a student club at Berkeley High School. It is managed by student club officers, a group of coaches, and a collection of parent volunteers who provide logistical support, assist with league and tournament registration, organize fundraising, and other important tasks.  

The team will soon be supported by Berkeley High Coup Ultimate, a 501c(3) non-profit organization that is in the process of being formed. Berkeley High Coup Ultimate is dedicated to promoting the sport of Ultimate for student athletes interested in playing at Berkeley High School. The Board of Berkeley High Coup Ultimate has the following goals:

  1. Collaborate with the coaches to ensure that the players are educated in the skills of Ultimate, encouraged to play with Spirit of the Game, and supported in an positive atmosphere of integrity, sportsmanship, and self esteem.

  2. Recruit volunteers and provide logistical and other support to enable the players to train and compete.

  3. Develop a budget and generate funding to cover the team’s operational expenses, ensuring that all players are able to participate without financial restrictions.

  4. Manage the team’s finances, taxes, insurance, records, and other administrative needs.

  5. Provide for communications within the Berkeley High Coup Ultimate community and to the larger outside community.

  6. Establish and maintain programs to recruit and retain players so that Berkeley High Coup Ultimate reflects the demographic diversity of Berkeley High School.

  7. Encourage and support the academic achievement of Berkeley High School student-athletes.

  8. Educate parents of new players about the sport and the team.

The schedule and location of Board meetings, when determined, will be posted here. All Berkeley High Coup Ultimate families will be invited to attend.
